(4th March, 2014).- The second Black-Tie Gala Dinner of the world-tour launched this year to celebrate ten years of The Berlin Tasting was carried out this evening in the capital of South Korea.

The event meant to commemorate the journey which toured over 15 nations during the last decade and established Chile’s place amongst the world’s greatest appellations, took place at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, and counted with the presence of world-famous Korean mountaineer, Mr. Hong-Gil Um, the first person to climb the 16 highest points on Earth and who made a joint-climb of the Chunggae Mountain with Mr. Eduardo Chadwick last year, right after the Berlin Tasting held in Seoul. That activity symbolically recalled previous climbs they had each made in 2002, when Mr. Um led a successful expedition up Mt Everest, the highest mountain in the northern hemisphere, and Mr. Chadwick reached the summit of Mt Aconcagua the highest peak in the southern half of the world.

After the especially paired 4-course dinner, an auction of the wines that participated in legendary Berlin Tastings around the world was performed, including La Cumbre 2001, KAI 2006, Double Magnums of Seña 2011 and Don Maximiano Founder’s Reserve 2009, and a normal sized Viñedo Chadwick 2000, in order to rise founds for Mr. Um’s charity organization, the Um Hong Gil Foundation, which he created in 2008 to foster educational and health support programs for children from developing countries.

Approximately 80 key Korean opinion leaders, wine writers, sommeliers and fine wine buyers attended this special occasion, hosted by Mr. Eduardo Chadwick, President of Viña Errázuriz and Viña Seña, alongside Ms. Min Ah Choi, Editor in Chief and Executive Director of Korean Wine Review Magazine, one of the most important specialized publications in that market.
